Louisiana Green Fuels Fund Updates > LGF State & Local Support
State & Local Support for LGFSupport for the Louisiana Green Fuels (“LGF”) project has come from every level of local and State Government; from the Caldwell Parish Industrial Development Board providing funding for the initial geological study of the site, to States Representatives and former U.S. Congressmen turning up to speak in support of the project at the approval meeting for the plant, to the recent visit by Governor John Bel Edwards to the test well drilling site.

The LGF Project ImpactThe positive environmental impact is clear; the synthetic diesel to be produced at the LGF facility out of the waste product of managed forests (including the sequestration of CO2 released in the process) will be the air pollution reducing equivalent of taking 110,000 cars off the road every year.
The positive social impact was made clear by the Governor, who spoke at length about just how important this project was to him personally as well as to the State of Louisiana. LGF will be transformative for Caldwell Parish; creating up to 500 direct and indirect jobs paying close to twice the current median income. |
