Jason Thonssen

Chief Compliance Officer and Director of Client Service for Ballast Rock Private Wealth

Born and raised in the Seattle area, Jason graduated from Gonzaga University in 2013 with a major in sociology and a minor in psychology. Following graduation, he spent the next year working for a volunteer abroad organization first as a project leader in Nicaragua and then marketing for the organization in the southeastern US. Following his return to Seattle, Jason eventually entered the finance field working for a local RIA where he learned the basics of wealth management and passed the series 65. After five years at this firm, he moved to another wealth management firm that caters to ultra high-net worth clients and offers the full spectrum of investments, financial, and estate planning. In addition to servicing clients Jason established himself as the liaison for alternative investments and received the Financial Paraplanner Qualified Professional (FPQP) designation. Now he is looking forward to working with clients more directly at BRPW and helping to design a system that helps them reach their financial goals. Outside of work, Jason can be found hanging out with his wife and daughter, working on DIY projects, golfing or cooking for friends and family.
