Venture Capital Market Update Webinar

CHARLESTON, SC | September 19, 2024

On Monday September 16th the Ballast Rock Asset Management and Acronym Venture Capital teams discussed the venture capital markets in a live interactive webinar. Some of the topics discussed include:

• How the venture capital (“VC”) market has become a story of “haves” and “have nots”.
• Why we expect to see consolidation of VC fund managers in the years ahead and there will be orphaned portfolio companies from VC managers that are unable to raise another round.
• Why capital is harder to raise for portfolio companies and, beyond hype sectors like Artificial Intelligence (“AI”), only those companies that can demonstrate a clear path to profitability can readily access funding right now.
• How growth rounds (Series B and later) have seen significant price declines from the peak and may now present opportunities for disciplined investors to deploy capital into good companies at more attractive valuations.
