Ballast Rock Foundation Sponsors Memminger Fun Run

The Ballast Rock Foundation is the firm’s vehicle for charitable giving.  The mission of the foundation is to help alleviate education inequities and housing insecurity in all its forms and is one of the ways we give back to our communities.

Memminger Elementary is a Title 1 school in downtown Charleston, South Carolina. We recently had the opportunity to sponsor a Fun Run for Memminger, organized by their PTO, a registered 501(c)(3) charity.  Ballast Rock was founded in Charleston and the name Ballast Rock itself was inspired by the English river stones that pave the streets there, so we were proud to be the main sponsor of the event.

Children, parents and staff all had a wonderful time and, most importantly, the PTO raised close to $30,000 in much needed funds from both sponsors, like Ballast Rock, and through the community's own fundraising efforts.
